Bankastraat 100 A

Bankastraat 100A | Archipelbuurt, Den Haag

Bankastraat 100A | Archipelbuurt, The Hague

Generous proportions, historic character and the freedom to make it your own.

Set along the elegant Bankastraat in the heart of the Archipelbuurt, Bankastraat 100A is a home of unusual scale and character. With approximately 341 sq m of living space, high ceilings, a south-west facing terrace of approximately 35 sq m and a remarkably generous layout, the apartment offers something increasingly difficult to find in The Hague: space, flexibility and the opportunity to shape a home around the way you want to live.

The apartment occupies the raised ground floor of Banka 100, a listed historic building that has been carefully transformed into just four substantial residences. Three have already been sold. Number 100A is by far the largest of the four and combines spacious living, privacy, entertaining and working from home within one well-considered floor plan.

An excellent foundation. The rest is yours.

The apartment has been finished to a high standard, with oak parquet flooring and underfloor heating throughout most of the home, two beautifully appointed bathrooms and modern technical installations.

At the same time, certain elements have intentionally been left for the future owner to personalise. The kitchen has not yet been installed, allowing the purchaser to create a design entirely to their own taste, requirements and lifestyle. The purchase and installation of the kitchen will be at the purchaser’s own expense.

The generous principal bedroom also offers ample room for the creation of a substantial walk-in wardrobe or dressing area.

The furniture currently shown in the property is not included in the sale, although it may be available by separate negotiation.

To help illustrate the potential of the apartment, a number of photographs in this presentation have been enhanced using AI. These include visualisations of the kitchen, walk-in wardrobe, office and entrance hall. They are intended solely as inspiration, showing one possible way in which these spaces could be completed and furnished.

These visualisations do not represent the actual condition in which the apartment will be delivered. The property is sold in its present condition and without the furniture shown, unless separately agreed.

Rather than presenting a home in which every design decision has already been made, Bankastraat 100A offers something different: a high-quality architectural foundation with the freedom to create the final result yourself.

Space designed around the way you live

The living and dining area forms a generous and inviting heart of the apartment. Its proportions allow for a wide variety of layouts, with space to combine living, dining and a future open-plan kitchen in a natural and comfortable way.

A large dining table, several seating areas, a library corner or a more formal entertaining space can all be incorporated without compromising the overall sense of openness.

From the living area, the apartment opens onto the approximately 35 sq m south-west facing terrace. This sheltered outdoor space forms a natural extension of the interior and offers a pleasant setting for long afternoons and evenings outside.

The principal bedroom is positioned towards the rear and also opens directly onto the terrace. There is generous space for a walk-in wardrobe, while the en-suite bathroom features a bathtub, walk-in shower, double vanity and WC.

A separate part of the apartment contains two further bedrooms, a second bathroom with walk-in shower and double vanity, a separate WC and a practical utility and storage room with laundry connections and technical installations.

At the front of the apartment is another particularly useful room with its own access from the communal staircase. This space lends itself beautifully to use as a private office, study, consulting room or guest accommodation, allowing work or visitors to remain separate from the main living areas when desired.

Life in the Archipelbuurt

The Archipelbuurt has long been regarded as one of The Hague’s most desirable residential neighbourhoods, and its appeal is easy to understand.

Elegant historic architecture, mature trees and broad avenues give the area a calm and established character, while daily life remains close at hand. Bankastraat itself is known for its local shops and speciality stores, making everyday errands pleasantly convenient.

Frederikstraat, Denneweg and the city centre are also within easy reach, offering a broad selection of restaurants, cafés, boutiques and cultural destinations.

Green space is equally accessible. The Scheveningse Bosjes and the leafy surroundings towards Benoordenhout are nearby, while the beach, sea and harbour can also be reached with ease.

It is precisely this balance that makes the location so appealing: peaceful and green, while remaining closely connected to the city.

Contemporary comfort within a historic setting

Behind the distinguished façade of Banka 100, the building has been adapted for modern-day living while retaining its historic character.

A well-presented communal entrance and staircase with lift serve the four residences. The building benefits from floor, façade and acoustic insulation, as well as 31 solar panels.

To the rear is a secure private parking area together with communal bicycle storage, including electrical facilities for charging e-bikes.

One private parking space on the secure rear courtyard is included in the purchase price of Bankastraat 100A. For those requiring additional parking, there is also the option to purchase a second private parking space separately.

Photographs can show the architecture and a floor plan can explain the dimensions, but neither fully captures what it feels like to stand in a 341 sq m apartment with this ceiling height, sense of space and flexibility.

Bankastraat 100A is not a home where every detail has already been decided on your behalf. It offers something more personal: remarkable space, a strong architectural foundation and the freedom to complete the home in a way that reflects your own taste and way of living.
