Rondleiding

"The children are fond of the 1st Floor, where they have their own ‘territory’ and can enjoy friends away from the grownups. Our family living room, located on the same floor, with splendid views of lush green gardens has created much quality time for all of us. Incredible sunrises and fun times await you on the 2nd floors balcony, overlooking Oranje Nassaulaan, with its trees, especially on a warm summer evening."

Buurtgids

Tour
The luxury of this home reveals itself on the ground floor, where the hallway with its refined staircase and French doors to the living room creates a warm welcome. As the current residents describe, this is a wonderful, spacious and well-equipped level for entertaining. With high ceilings, abundant space and a charming fireplace, the home invites gatherings with friends and family. The kitchen is thoughtfully designed and fully equipped; not entirely open, yet in connection with the living space. On warm summer evenings, the French doors can be opened, allowing cooking and dining to flow seamlessly into outdoor living. Adjoining the living room is a side room, ideal as a study or playroom for young children.
The basement is neatly finished and functionally arranged for additional storage; the current residents use this space as a gym. The wooden shed in the garden also offers space for bicycles and garden tools. The sleeping levels comprise seven generous rooms, flexibly suited as bedrooms, workspaces or gym, complemented by four bathrooms and a dressing room. The first floor includes two spacious bedrooms at the front, each with built-in wardrobes, warm tones and oak flooring. They share a large bathroom with bathtub, separate walk-in shower and double washbasin. At the rear lies a third bedroom next to a cosy media lounge, with a second bathroom and a practical laundry. The second floor of approximately 85 m² provides three spacious rooms. The master suite adjoins a large terrace and features a dressing with no less than sixteen metres of wardrobes and a bright, luxurious bathroom enhanced by multiple windows. At the rear are two large rooms, used by the residents as a home office and gym. Surprisingly high ceilings and ample daylight give this floor a distinctive character.
The corner house is surrounded by a side and rear garden, complete with an automatic gate, wrought-iron details and robust pillars ensuring privacy and security. The side garden, accessible from the kitchen, is furnished with a dining table and experienced by the residents as a particularly comfortable place to dine. From the dining room, double doors lead to a generous terrace and the rear garden, landscaped by design with rich planting of flowering perennials and evergreen trees. A hardwood shed is placed here for garden furniture and bicycles.

In addition, the residence features an intimate roof terrace, directly adjoining the master bedroom. The Mediterranean atmosphere is set by two olive trees, giving this terrace a unique and personal character.

Neighbourhood
At the end of the nineteenth century, as Amsterdam’s city centre grew increasingly crowded, the demand arose for a leafy district close to the centre. In 1881, architect Zocher designed the Willemspark, now known as the Vondelpark. A few decades later, the first villas were built around its ponds. Stately houses in classical architectural styles welcomed families to this greener, quieter part of the city.
The grandeur of that time remains intact today. Both the residents and the culinary offering — Vlaamsch Broodhuys, chocolatier Linnick, greengrocer Wessels, Michelin-starred Ron Gastrobar and French seafood restaurant VISQUE — lend this residential area its contemporary allure. Situated between the Vondelpark, Koninginneweg and Amstelveenseweg — with the Museum Quarter within walking distance — this is an ideal corner of Amsterdam to live, where relaxation and inspiration are always nearby.
